Having advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of natural sciences that builds upon their secondary education and is supported by textbooks, course materials and other scientific resources presenting up-to-date information. Making use of theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the field of mathematics and natural science. To examine concepts and thoughts in the field of physics through scientific methods; to gather, interpret and evaluate data; to define and analyze problems; and to offer solutions to these problems. Carrying out an advanced study in the field, designing experiments for examining the problems, collecting data, analyzing and interpreting of the results.Assuming responsibility individually or as a team member in order to solve unexpected and complex problems encountered in related application.Plannig and managing activities required for professional development of subordinates during a teamwork.Playing a role in the process of making a desicion about the enountered problems in different fields of disciplines. Using the time efficiently in the process of getting the results by having analythical thinking skill. Having enough proficiency in a foreign language to follow the literature in physics and communicating with their peers.Having competency in keeping up with global innovations and developments in physics and in related fields. Sharing their opinions or solution offers to the problems to specialists or non-specialists, supporting these with qualitative and quantitative data. Attendance to at least 70% of the theoretical courses and 80 % of is mandatory to enter final exams. Mid-term contribution is 40% and final exam contribution is 60% for theoretical courses, while mid-term contribution is 60% and final exam contribution is 40% for practical courses. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Student should take at least 70 in final exam. Every student is obliged to make registration for each term.The doctorate programme consists of a minimum of seven courses with a minimum of 21 national credits and 180 ECTS, a qualifying examination, a dissertation proposal, and a dissertation. The conditions for application to the postgraduate programmes and evaluation a) In order for the candidates to apply for the postgraduate PhD programmes, they must have 1) a Master degree, 2) a YDS score of minimum 55 or equivalent score in one of the foreign language exams whose equivalency are recognised by Interuniversity Board. Foreign students must have English, French or German YDS or equivalent score other than their native language. Moreover, detailed information is present in web page of Dicle University Institute of Natural and Applied Science and all conditions in this page are valid. 3) an ALES exam or another equivalent score. b) Principles of Evaluation for Doctorate programme are as follows: 1) Applicants’ success grades are calculated by adding 70 % of their ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score, 20 % of their BSc degree GPA (General Point Average) for BSc candidates and 20 % of average of their BSc degree GPAand MSc degree GPA for MSc candidates, and 10 % of their Foreign Language Exam score, beginning with those who get the highest total success grade depending on the quotas of the programmes. In case of equality, the one having higher ALES and foreign language score totally is given priority.
