- Temel mühendislik bilgilerini ileri derecede kullanabilme becerisine sahip olur.
- Jeolojik problemlerin çözümünde ileri düzeyde deneyler veya yöntemler tasarlar, uygular ve sonuçlarını yorumlar.
- Mühendislik problemlerinin çözümüne yönelik olarak ileri düzeyde disiplinler arası bir yaklaşımla çözüme gider.
- Jeolojik problemlerin tespiti ve çözümünde mesleki etik ve sorumluluk bilinci içerisinde hareket eder.
- Multidisipliner çalışma gerektiren gruplarda görev alır ve iletişim sağlar.
- Öğrenmenin yaşam boyu devam ettiğini kavrar ve bilgilerinin güncelliğini sürekli sağlayacak yöntemleri kullanır.
- Çağın getirdiği güncel jeolojik ve diğer ilgili alanlardaki problemleri ileri düzeyde tanır.
- Jeolojik olayları ileri düzeyde üç boyutlu düşünür, yorumlar, analiz ve sentez yapar.
- Bilgi teknolojilerini ileri düzeyde etkin kullanma becerisine sahip olur.
- Her türlü doğal kaynağı ve doğal olayları ileri düzeyde araştırıp inceler ve rapor yazar.
Program mezunları; jeoloji mühendisliği alt disiplinlerinde gerek uygulamada gerekse tasarımda kamu ve özel sektörde çalışabilirler. Bölgesel Jeoloji, Tektonik hatlar, Zemin Mekaniği, Kaya Mekaniği, Maden Kaynakları, karayolu, demiryolu, yapı işletmesi, geoteknik ve endüstriyel hammaddeler Jeoloji Mühendisliği Programının ilgilendiği alanlardır.
