He/She strives for preparing appropriate settings for childrens security, health, anatomy and physiology, nutrition and sensitiveness. He/She pays required importance to the childrens speaking turkish well and knows the books which are suitable books for children and contribute children developments. He/She supports the chilrens self esteem and self confidence, strives to acquire self-control to the children. They support this process with music and drama activities. He/sheKnows the aims and principles of the early childhood education. Acquires the capability of performing activities which has prepared toward the principles, knows the structure of the Turkish Education System, behaves according to democratic and universal human rights, serves as a model. He/She knows profession knowledge about 0-6 year child.He/She notices the familys and social surroundings features while preparing curriculum. He/She knows the importance of school-family-children interaction in the early childhood education and family participation. He/She knows about educations importance, social dynamics which affect education system, practices and developments about education system, importance of teaching and teacher training. He/She knows the fundamental informations about mother-child health, importance of mother-child nutrition, child mental healh, child pyschology and first aid. Can take a part in raising awareness the society. He/She explain the link between education-society and school-environment and concepts about these. He/She use the teaching technologies in the early childhood education and prepare materials which are appropriate to childrens age, development features and needs.He/She give information about early childhood curriculums and plans. He/She give information about preparing project about early childhood education and data collection. He/She knows what is happening in Turkey and the world about early childhood education. By supporting the childrens play-based psychomotor, social-emotional, language and cognitive development, he/she brings children in self-care skills and study for getting him ready to primary education.

For each course, the format of assessment and evaluation is defined in detail in “Course Teaching Plan”.To succesfully complete all courses available in program (total of 240 ECTS), students should obtain at least 2.0 weighed GPA out of 4.00.

Students must comply with the legal and academic requirements to access the studies at Mersin University according to the process established by the OSYM (Higher Education Council Student Selection and Placement Centre) regulations.

Graduates of this department are appointed by the Ministry of National Education as an EARLY CHILDHOOD teacher on condition that they get the required score in Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS), and teach at universities, private schools or other private teaching institutions.
