• The purpose of the program is to provide the necessary scientific and academic environment for the development of psychologists who have a basic knowledge of psychology, are capable of critical thinking, designing and conducting scientific research, aware of their responsibilities to themselves, their surroundings, and the society they live in, and are able to apply their scientific education to practice while adhering to professional ethics, with high levels of awareness, self-esteem, and communication skills.

• Education is conducted in either formal or distance learning formats. There are various Psychology Laboratories where research and applications related to different subfields of psychology are conducted. Additionally, there is a Psychology Club where undergraduate students of the program engage in various academic and social activities.

• Has theoretical knowledge and practical skills supported by current course materials related to developments in psychological science.
• Thinks, questions, and comments in a creative, critical, and dynamic fashion with the knowledge and tools acquired.
• Can analyze and synthesize knowledge of the subdomains of psychology and other scientific disciplines.
• Has the skills to define, analyze, evaluate, and assess the alternative solutions for the personal/social problems encountered and apply the best solution addressed by scientific knowledge.
• Selects the research method (observation, interview, questionnaire etc.) and data gathering tools pertinent to the research question (qualitative or quantitative) and analyses the data with the statistical knowledge using the necessary software (Jamovi, R, MAXQDA, NVivo etc.)
• Interprets the results obtained from the research according to the scientific literature and reports them in accordance with the appropriate writing format (APA, MLA etc.)
• Presents the results of the research in national and international conferences and publishes them in scientific journals, books, and similar resources.
• Can effectively utilize appropriate methods for presenting, sharing, and discussing scientific knowledge.
• Have knowledge about the measurement tools in applied psychology, alongside their applications, evaluations, and reporting.
• Can use the library, scientific databases, the internet, and other sources of information effectively.
• Is qualified for the requirements of training on Turkish and English languages.
• Uses the acquired knowledge by adhering to professional ethical principles.

• According to “Başkent University Regulation on Undergraduate Education and Exams”;
• for each course, students are given at least one midterm and one final exam at the end of the term. The instructor can give quizzes, consider homeworks, projects, lab, or similar works as a midterm.
• While assessing term success grade, all the exam results, half-year studies, attendance, and participation is considered. Their percentages are determined by the instructor and declared within two weeks of the course starts to the department or program chairs and students.
• Letter grading systems are used to evaluate student achievement. At the end of a semester, one of the following letter grades for each course is given to the students with the appreciation of the lecturer. The student who gets one of the grades (A), (A+), (A-), (B+), (B), (B-), (C+), (C), (C-), (D+), (D) is considered to have succeeded in the course. 'F1' and 'F2' grades show that the student has failed the course. 'F1' is given to students who have attended but failed, whereas 'F2' is given to students who have failed the course due to unattendance. The students who have failed due to unattendance cannot take the end-term exam or if it's given resit exam. Students who got an ‘F1’ or ‘F2’ repeat the course in the following terms. A student whose ATGA and GGA is at least 2.00 and has no repeat courses is considered as a successful student, and with an ATGA and GGA of 1.99 and below is considered to be unsuccessful.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

- YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

- "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

- "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report" containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published annually by CoHE. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the "Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.2. The curricula of the National Core Curricula are adopted by the relevant Council of Deans and implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receive a bachelor's diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: Higher education institutions, in the context of continuous monitoring, enter the "Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

• Student admissions are conducted based on the central exam results organized by the Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and the principles determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

• Graduates of the Department of Psychology can work in consultancy firms, public relations and media departments within companies, advertising, marketing, human resources, social services and education, non-governmental organizations, preschool education institutions, and special education institutions, among others.
• Graduates with the title “Psychologist” from the relevant undergraduate program can specialize in different fields by continuing their graduate studies in their areas of interest. After obtaining a specialization or doctoral degree, graduates can work in various institutions such as universities, hospitals, clinics, psychological health and community health centers, family health centers, neuropsychology laboratories, prisons and judiciary, nursing homes, and elderly care centers.
