• As a requirement of the field of radio, television and cinema practical studies for production are of great importance as well as theoretical and technical knowledge. In this respect, the first two years of the education program consist of basic theoretical and technical courses. In the third and fourth years of the education, the program is structured within the framework of production-management workshops and theoretical courses suggesting specialization were included in the program in parallel with the production-direction workshop selections. Elective course pool has been kept wide so that students can develop in their own fields of interest and in line with their own preferences. The natural and cultural texture of the region constitutes a separate study area for the department in terms of documentary filmmaking. In order to document this texture and cultural heritage, the department focused on documentary filmmaking.
• The Department of Radio, Television and Cinema aims to train graduates who have the knowledge, skills and equipment to fulfil the theoretical, technical and practical requirements of the field, who can organise their creativity in line with their knowledge, who are committed to professional ethics, who can work as producers, directors, script writers, critics, cameramen, editing staff, etc. in the field of radio and television programming and cinema, documentary cinema and commercial film production and who can carry out theoretical studies. • In the third and fourth year of education, the programme is structured within the framework of production-management workshops and theoretical courses that suggest specialisation in parallel with the production-management workshop choices are included in the programme. In order to enable students to develop in their own areas of interest and in line with their own preferences, the elective course pool has been kept wide. The natural and cultural texture of the region constitutes a separate field of study for the department in terms of documentary film making. In order to document this texture and cultural heritage, the department has focused on documentary film production.

• Education and training is carried out in the form of formal, open or distance education. In addition, practical training is carried out in laboratories and workshops within higher education institutions or in industry, health institutions and workplaces as internships or workplace training.

• Knows the works to be done during the planning, production, management, distribution and screening/broadcasting stages of radio, television, film and new media projects.
• Knows about the basic elements of cinematography such as lighting, camera, montage, sound design.
• Knows the basic working principles and application of production tools including lighting, camera, montage and sound technologies
• Knows the basics of cinematic language and basic elements of cinematic narration.
• Knows about Turkish and world cinema history, genres and movements of cinema.
• Knows the basic features and paradigms of script writing.
• Knows about communication processes, theories, history, and legislation.
• Knows about radio and television programming and management.
• Knows the operation of multiple and single camera production process.
• Knows about art history, art movements, sociology, psychology, philosophy, and politics.
• Knows about new media improvements.
• Knows about occupational health and safety practices in the field.
• Designing, planning and producing all kinds of audiovisual content (film, documentary, photography, advertising, generic, news)
• Has the ability to plan and document the process of producing radio, television, film and all kinds of audiovisual projects.

• Interpreting the political, economic, social and intellectual conditions leading to the emergence of the Turkish Revolution and adopts high human values in line with Atatürk's principles and revolutions.

• The assessment and evaluation method applied for each course is defined in detail in the "Course Teaching Plan" in accordance with Mersin University Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

- YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.

- "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.

- "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report" containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published annually by CoHE. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the "Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.2. The curricula of the National Core Curricula are adopted by the relevant Council of Deans and implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receive a bachelor's diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: Higher education institutions, in the context of continuous monitoring, enter the "Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

The Communication Research Association  (ILAD)

• Candidates must have High school and their equivalents’ diploma and must have enough score of TS-1 score type from Bachelor Placement Exam (LYS) which is being performed by National Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM), in order to be registered to Radio Television and Film Department’s Bachelor level. Moreover, graduates of Radio Television and Film department’s two-year degree programs are being accepted to adjustment class if they have enough score in Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) of ÖSYM.

• Candidates who have completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programmes provided that they get a valid grade from the ALES exam, have sufficient knowledge of English language and pass the science exam.
