The Classroom Teaching program was established to train primary school teachers who adopt innovative and creative teaching methods, integrate technology with education, and have high-level communication skills. The main goal of the program is to train teacher candidates with qualifications that will advance the quality of education in every institution they will work in the future.

Classroom Teaching education is provided in a foreign language, English, with a minimum of 30% formal education. There are classrooms, lecture halls and laboratories within the university in order to gain the competencies aimed at by the department courses and the program. Students are supported with courses from different disciplines within the scope of the applied core curriculum, and are also supported socially and culturally.

• Apply learning and teaching approaches, theories, teaching methods and techniques specific to the field of classroom teaching effectively while acquiring and applying the current knowledge and skills required by the teaching profession.
• Present a profile that reflects the cultural values of Türkiye and giving importance to universal values while following the international literature as well as the national literature.
• Have communication/access with/to national/international professional organisations, colleagues and resources in the digital environment while creating a rich learning environment for students.
• Acquire competencies in teaching and research for professional development, and reflecting the outcomes to/for the students.
• Identify and use traditional and alternative measurement/assessment methods and techniques in the field of classroom teaching
• Adopt professional ethical values and be in cooperation with stakeholders, with due regard to personal and professional social responsibilities.
• Use the Turkish language correctly and effectively as well as develop written and oral communication skills in English.
• Demonstrate a critical way of thinking, generate new ideas and have problem-solving skills.
• Research the structure and requirements of national and international programmes to produce lesson plans by following the requirements of national and international programmes.
• Take advantage of the campus life where students are engaged in diversity, creativity and commitment outside coursework through artistic, cultural, sportive and intellectual activities.

• In each course, assessments such as midterm exams, projects, laboratory or studio work, assignments, and quizzes are carried out throughout the semester. Additionally, a final exam is given at the end of the semester. The percentages/weights of the assessments carried out throughout the semester and the final exam grade in the total end-of-semester are determined by the relevant instructor and announced at the beginning of the semester. The percentage/weight of the final exam in the total grade cannot exceed 60%. The assessments in-term, must be evaluated according to the academic calendar and the results must be announced to the students before the end of the semester courses.
• Except for the exams of the English Preparatory Program, multiple choice or true-false type questions are not included in the midterm and final exams.
• The students who are suspended as a result of a disciplinary investigation are not given the opportunity to make up for the assessments that they could not attend during the period they were suspended.
• In order to be eligible to take the final exam, students must demonstrate a certain level of overall success in other assessment activities carried out throughout the semester. Students who cannot achieve this level of success or do not meet the attendance requirements of the course are not taken to the final exam of the course. The percentages of the assessments carried out throughout the semester and the minimum success level and attendance requirement required to gain the right to take the final exam are determined by the instructor teaching the course and announced in writing at the beginning of the semester. Students who are not eligible to take the final exam are determined by the instructor teaching the course and these students are given an FZ grade within the dates specified in the academic calendar before the final exams. Students who receive FZ grades are not admitted to the final exam of the course.
• The letter grade to be given to each student at the end of the semester is determined by the instructor based on the student's end-of-semester weighted total grade, attendance at classes and participation in other studies. Among the students whose total success does not meet the minimum level of success determined by the instructor, those who have attended the final exam are given an F grade, and students who have the right to take the final exam but have not taken the final exam are given an FX grade. Students who have not taken the final exam but whose total success exceeds the minimum success level determined by the instructor may be given a grade of D or higher. Letter grades are delivered electronically to the Registrar's Office until the day specified in the academic calendar.
• The Registrar's Office announces end-of-semester course grades and semester and overall grade point averages on the date specified in the academic calendar.
• Except for the I grades that may have been given and the grades of the students who will take the make-up exam within the scope of Article 4.8, all grades that remain uncertain after the announcement of the letter grades will be converted into FX grades.

To oversee the quality of higher education programs;

• YÖK is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and supervising education and training and other activities in higher education institutions.
• "University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports" of higher education institutions prepared within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK are published every year. The reports prepared according to these reports, including quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK.
• "Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report" containing academic, administrative and financial data of foundation higher education institutions is published annually by CoHE. These reports, which include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are shared with the public by YÖK. Quality assurance of undergraduate programs in higher education is ensured according to the "Procedures and Principles for Ensuring Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Creation and Approval of Curricula: YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the opening of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.1. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in higher education institutions and the learning outcomes that each program will provide to the student are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

1.2. The curricula of the National Core Curricula are adopted by the relevant Council of Deans and implemented by higher education institutions with the approval of the Council of Higher Education.

2. Assessment and Evaluation: The measurement and evaluation of the learning outcomes of each undergraduate program is carried out according to the teaching and examination regulations prepared by higher education institutions in accordance with the basic principles determined by YÖK on these issues.

3. Certification: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs, if they successfully complete the course credits and other obligations determined by higher education institutions; receive a bachelor's diploma.

4. Self-Assessment-External Evaluation: Higher education institutions, in the context of continuous monitoring, enter the "Institutional Internal Evaluation Reports" of the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report" prepared for the external evaluation of higher education institutions with the public. In addition, accreditation decisions issued by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK also indicate that the quality assurance of the qualifications of the programs is ensured. YÖKAK conducts regular review activities regarding the qualifications determined in accordance with the legislation.

Classroom Teaching undergraduate program is monitored within the scope of Bilkent University Quality Assurance in Education studies at the end of each academic term, within a continuous improvement cycle. Reports prepared at the end of academic terms are made public and shared with the Higher Education Quality Council.

• Students who are placed in a program at Bilkent University by ÖSYM (Center for Assessment, Selection and Placement) as a result of central placement, students who are successful in the Bilkent University aptitude exams they take after pre-registration, Turkish nationals or international students who are accepted by the University in line with the Council of Higher Education's Principles on Admission of Students from Abroad, and international students who are placed at the University by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities within the scope of Türkiye Scholarships, have the right to register at Bilkent University.
• In addition, students accepted by Bilkent University through undergraduate transfer can register definitively, starting from the relevant class of the education program to which they have been accepted.
• Students who are fully registered continue their education as full-time students, regardless of the number of courses they take each semester.
• The final registration procedures and program adjustments of students who are placed in an undergraduate program of Bilkent University through central placement and who were previously enrolled in a different undergraduate program at Bilkent but have not graduated from this program are subject to the relevant provisions of the Regulation on Horizontal and Vertical Transfer to Bilkent University Undergraduate Programs. Students who re-enter the program they are enrolled in, those who took a break from their education for less than a year, continue their programs from where they left off, and those who take a break for more than a year start the program from the beginning. Students who have previously graduated from a university with a bachelor's degree, and students who have been placed in an undergraduate program at Bilkent University in the past years and who have taken the ÖSYM exams and been placed back in Bilkent again, cannot benefit from Bilkent University scholarships.

At the end of the program the graduates,

• will demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning by engaging in continuous professional development, and self-reflection.
