They gain sufficient information about basic social work theories (system theory, ecological theory, empowerment approach, etc.).They obtain the knowledge on social work practice areas (education, health, civil society, etc.).They acquire the knowledge of professional ethics, principles and values. They gain the basic information on human behavior and social environment.They obtain the basic information about legislation in the field of social work services.They gain information about research methods and processes in social work.They learn about different communication skills with different social groups.They are capable of intervening at different levels (micro, mezzo, macro) for applicants with different structures.They are capable of performing different practice processes ( situation assessment, action plan, action intervention, evaluation, termination of intervention) functionally for applicants with different structures.They acquire the ability to combine the theoretical knowledge gained from the social work program in the field of practice.They acquire the ability to collect, organize and interpret appropriate information to prepare social study, assessments and reports.They gain the ability to conduct and finalize the social work research. Students are required to take the midterm, midterm study (project, seminar, quiz, homework, or second midterm) and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam and / or midterm work is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are converted to a letter grade in the relative grade system, which is evaluated over 100 points. There is a requirement to take at least 45 points by the final exam. At the end of each semester, the students may take the make-up exam from all courses of that semester.

Students are enrolled in the Social Work Department undergraduate program by completing Turkish secondary education or receiving equivalent education abroad and by equal weighted (EW) and central placement system according to the results of Undergraduate Placement Examination.

The Ministry of Family and Social Policies, The Minstry of Youth and Sports, Social Work Provincial Directorates, Social Work Centers, Children’s Homes, Child Support Centers, Children’s Homes Coordination Centers, Rest Homes, Elderly Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers, Private Education Institutions, Hospitals, Kindergartens and Children’s Nurseries, Prisons, Juvenile Courts, Institution of Forensic Medicine, Youth Centers, Women’s Shelter, Family Planning and Maternity Health Centers, The Ministry of National Education, Vocational Training Centers, Credit and Dormitories Institution, Social Securtiy Institution, Foundation of Social Assistance and Solidarity, Nongovernmental Organizations, Social Work Units of Local Governments are the institutions in which social workers can work.
