- Öğrenci, temel tarihsel kaynakları açıklar ve eleştirir, stilistik ve dil özelliklerini değerlendirir ve çeşitli bilimsel yöntem ve teknikleri kullanarak içeriğini analiz eder.
- Öğrenci, tarih boyunca gözlenebilecek kısa, orta ve uzun vadeli süreçleri ve gelişmeleri tanımlar ve değerlendirir.
- Öğrenci, farklı tarih okulları tarafından üretilen tarihsel bilgiyi yöntem ve içerik açısından karşılaştırır.

Upon the successful completion of this programme, the students will be able to:
- Explain the basic concepts of history and the similarities and differences between history and the other social sciences.
- Describe and critically evaluate the essential historical sources, assess their stylistic and linguistic properties and analyses their contents using various scientific methods and techniques.
- Identify and evaluate the short, medium and long-term processes and developments observable in the course of history.
- Compare the historical knowledge produced by different schools of history in terms of method and content.
- Describe and evaluate from an historical perspective the political, social, economic, cultural, scientific and technological developments at the global, regional and local levels.
- Develop and complete a project investigating the historical dimensions of any given political, social or economic problem, interpreting his/her findings and proposing solutions.
- Recognize the necessity of teamwork and take the role of team leader or member in various projects, including those that involve collaboration with other social scientists.
- Follow the new scholarly work in history and other social sciences published in his/her mother tongue and foreign languages.
- Approach critically topics and assess other views while expressing his/her views clearly and in an ethical manner.
- Use bibliographies, archives and information tools like electronic references.
