- Biyokimya, mikrobiyoloji, patoloji, genetik vb. laboratuvarlara ait uygulamaları bilir. İnsan anatomisi ve fizyolojisi ile tıbbi ve teknik terminolojiyi bilir. Enfeksiyonun bulaşma nedenlerini ve korunma yöntemlerini bilir.
- Tıbbi laboratuvar testleri için gerekli biyolojik materyalin hastadan alınması, alınan materyallerin saklaması, transferleri ve numune red kriterlerini bilir.
- Dekontaminasyon işlemleri ve atık yönetim ilkelerini bilir ve uygular.
- Laboratuvarlarda uygulanacak analizler için gerekli olan materyallerin ve solüsyonların hazırlık işlemlerini yapar.
- Laboratuvarlardaki tüm araç gereçleri tekniklerine uygun olarak kullanır, düzenli olarak cihazların kalibrasyonları, kontrolleri ve bakımları ile ilgili işlemleri yürütür.
- Asepsi, antisepsi, sterilizasyon ve evrensel korunma yöntemlerini uygular.
- Meslektaşları ile iletişim kurar ve gerekli durumlarda diğer sağlık disiplinleri ile işbirliği içerisinde çalışır.
- Tıbbi laboratuvar ile ilgili bilgi, beceri ve yetkinlikleri yaşam boyu öğrenme ve güncelleme bilincine sahiptir.
