Turizm İşletmeciliği Doktora programının amacı öğrencinin bilimsel araştırma yaparak bilgiye erişme, bilgiyi değerlendirme ve yorumlama yeteneği kazanmasını sağlamaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, akademik kariyer yapmak isteyen öğrencilere bilimsel düşünme ve araştırma yapma becerisi kazandırmaktır.
- Turizm işletmeciliğinin disiplinler arası yapısı bağlamında farklı disiplinlerin bakışı ile oluşturulan bilimsel bilgiye ve sektör yapısı ve gerçekleri hakkında bilgiye sahiptir.
- Karar, uygulama ve davranışlarında turizm alanına ilişkin edindiği bilgileri kullanmak suretiyle verileri yorumlayabilme, analiz edebilme, sorunları tanımlayabilme ve çözüm önerileri getirebilme becerisine sahiptir.
- Turizm alanına ilişkin bilgileri çalışanlar ve ekip arkadaşlarına aktarabilme becerisine sahiptir.
- Turizm işletmeciliği alanında bir çalışma kapsamında bağımsız bir şekilde bilimsel araştırma sürecinden geçerek bilgiye ulaşır.
- Turizm işletmeciliği alanında yürütülecek olan projelerde görev ve sorumluluklarını etkin bir şekilde yerine getirir.
- Turizm işletmeleri yada bu alanda bilgi üreten diğer kurumlar (üniversiteler, okullar gibi) için vizyon, amaç ve hedef belirler.
- Turizm işletmeciliği alanı ile ilgili bilimsel literatürü takip eder.
- Öğrenmeyi öğrenme yaklaşımı dairesinde bütün bilimsel verilerden olduğu gibi alanındaki örneklerden de yararlanmak suretiyle en iyi uygulamalara ulaşır.
- Turizm işletmeciliği ile ilgili edindiği bilgi, düşünce ve önerilerini işletme yöneticilerine veya akademik kanallarla toplumun ilgili kesimlerine, alanı ile ilgili mesleki ve sivil toplum kuruluşlarına, kamuoyuna yazılı ve sözlü olarak aktarır.
- Turizm işletmeciliği alanına ilişkin çalışma yapan akademisyenler ve araştırma kuruluşları ile iletişim kurar, araştırma projelerinde görev alır ve deneyim ve birikimini paylaşarak çıktıya dönüştürür.
- En az bir yabancı dili akademik düzeyde kullanır.
- Çalışma alanlarına ilişkin veri giriş ve analizlerini yapabilecek düzeyde bilgisayar yazılımı, bilişim ve iletişim teknolojilerini kullanır.
- Turizmin kendine özgü yapısından kaynaklı sorunlara karşı özgün çözüm önerileri getirir.
- Örgüt/Kurum, iş ve toplumsal etik değerlerine uygun davranmanın yanında, sosyal hakların evrenselliği, sosyal adalet, kalite ve kültürel değerler ile çevre koruma, iş sağlığı ve güvenliği konularında yeterli bilince sahiptir ve sektörün bu konularda çözüm üretmesine katkı sağlayacak çalışmalar yapar.
Mezunlar alanıyla ilgili üniversitelerde kabul şartlarını yerine getirdikleri takdirde öğretim elemanı olarak çalışabilmektedirler.
