- Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı alanında ve alt alanlarında yeterlilikler kazanma, bu amaca yönelik olarak hazırlanan ve hem tarihî hem de güncel bilgileri içeren ders kaynaklarına, araştırma yöntem, kuram ve tekniklerine, metin analizi için gerekli yöntemlere ilişkin bilgi ve becerilere sahip olur.
- Dilbilimin temel kavramlarını, kural ve kuramlarını bilir.
- Türkiye Türkçesinin dilbilgisine dair bilgileri ileri düzeyde edinir.
- Osmanlı Türkçesi ile yazılı matbu ve yazma metinleri okuma ve anlama bilgisini kazanır.

- Acquires proficiency in the general field of Turkish Language and Literature, as well as its sub-fields through the following means: having access to and developing abilities to evaluate the course material covering both historical and contemporary information, research methods, teory and techniques and text analysis methods.
- Knows the basic concepts, rules and theories of linguistics.
- Attains the knowledge on the grammar of modern Turkish, valid in Turkey.
- Acquires reading and comprehension skills of printed and handwritten Ottoman Turkish texts.
- Gains the abilities to analyze the written products of Ottoman-Turkish classical literature.
- Analyzes literary texts from certain historical periods and can form a literature review of the sources.
- Can evaluate the periods, characteristics, literay movements and products of Turkish literature within a historical framework.
- Has knowledge on the historical development and change of Turkish folk literature. Attains knowledge on contemporary Turkish dialects and literatures.
- Obtains a general perspective and evaluation capacity on world literature and skill to appreciate comparative literature studies.
