Upon the successful completion of this programme, the students will be able to: Convey information and opinions in his/her field in verbal or written form Evaluate the information and qualifications s/he acquired in the study field critically Work individually and undertaking responsibility. Work coopeartively in a team. Manage learning process and learning how to learn Use information and communication technologies required in the study field Use a foreign language to follow basic developments in the field and to communicate in professional environment.

Examination, assessment and grading procedure is mainly based on Social Sciences University of Ankara Education and Training Regulations for Undergraduate Degree depending on the nature of the course various instruments such as midterms, final exams, short exams, presentations, assignments, projects, portfolios and applications may be involved in the assessment process of a semester on condition that students are informed about their weights upon registry. Contribution of these activities to final grading range between 40% -60% and so as to be eligible to take the final exam, a student has to fulfill the attendance requirement of 70% for theoretical and 80 % for practical courses. Once this requirement is fulfilled, attendance is not required again in case of a failure and retaking that course. Final grading of a course is determined on the basis of semester studies and final exam. Those with certified and officially approved excuses are also given a makeup exam. So as to be granted a Bachelors Degree in Turkish Language and literature, the students are required to complete the courses offered by the programme successfully, fulfill 240 ECTS credits requirement with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Students who get the required verbal base score from the central university placement test condcuted by Student Selection and Placement Center are accepted to the program.There are no other spesific admission requirements other than the general ones.

Graduates of Turkish Language and Literature program are entitled to be “Turcologist”. They can be employed in libraries, archives, Ministry of Culture, TRT; work in higher education institutions as lecturers and those with official “certificate of teaching” can be emploed as teachers in secondary schools. The ones with special talents can work in newspapers, journals, magazines in clerkship or editorship positions. Most of our graduates carry out educational duties; and there are some writers among our graduates.The ones who get a degree in masters and doctorate programs can be employed as academic staff at universities, as well.
