Yükseköğretim Kurumu (YÖK) tarafından belirlenen yönetmelikler çerçevesinde, bu programa öğrenci kabulü Öğrenci Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezince (ÖSYM) düzenlenen Yüksek Öğretime Geçiş Sınavı (YGS)  ile yapılmaktadır. Öğrenciler, öğrenim görmek istedikleri program tercihlerini bildirdikten sonra bu sınavlardan aldıkları puanlara göre Öğrenci Seçme ve Yerleştirme Merkezi tarafından ilgili programlara yerleştirilmektedir.

Başarma ŞartlarıMezuniyet için kazanılması gereken en az AKTS kredisi 240’dır. Öğrencilerin aynı zamanda zorunlu stajlarını ve bitirme projesini belirtilen sürede ve özellikte tamamlamaları zorunludur.

Further Info

In present days, the avionics maintenance services are provided mainly by such an education which uses high level technology. The highly-developed aircrafts of today that meet the requirements of fast and safe air  transfortation  is the top application area of high technology and hardware knowledge. Therefore the department's laboratories and workshops which has such infrastructure to allow the training of competent technical staff about repair and maintenance was founded. In the department, students will learn how to do the aircraft maintenance and repairment of electronic devices in modern methods and techniques. In the class they also learn the practice of how to apply the theoretical knowledge about basic electrical and electronic to navigation, communications, radar, flight control of aircraft electrical systems and devices. A significant amount of their education will be spent in laboratories and workshops using and practicing the real aircraft systems. The main subjects of study in the department can be listed like AC-DC circuits, electronic circuits and communication, airplane navigation and radar systems and navigation instruments. In the department, after the basic theoretical courses, teaching-learning process which consists of laboratory and workshop and summer practices the students will be able to graduate and start work immediately.

The Avionics department started the academic activities in the academic year 2011-2012 by taking its first students in 2011. After one year English preparatory class the students will go through a training and education programs of four years. The curriculum of the department was prepared taking into consideration the demands of the General Management of Civil Aviation and international standards in order to meet the needs of civil aviation sector which is rapidly evolving and gaining importance nowadays. Beside  the institutional and academic teaching such an education which is mainly based on thinking, designing and implementation on one to one application was highlighted in the curriculum. From the third year the students will be trained  by application-oriented lectures and workshops that are provided in a aircraft maintenance hangar in the Ankara Esenboğa Airport of Atılım University.

Access Requirements

Within the rules and regulations provided by the Higher Education Council (YÖK), the students are accepted to this program through the Higher Education Transition Examination (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS) conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). After the students submit their preferences on the programs they want to study, based on their scores the students are placed in one of their choices by the Student Selection and Placement Center.

The following rules and regulations are applied for the acceptance of foreign students:

  1. High School diploma and transcript
  2. Approval of documents in Item 1 by the Ministry of National Education
  3. Performance of the student in the related subjects.
  4. Result of the interview
  5. English proficiency minimum requirements
    • TOEFL IBT: 91
    • CBT: 233
    • PBT: 577
    • IELTS: 5,5
    • Atilim University Prep School Proficiency: 60

The acceptance of exchange students is based on the agreements (Erasmus or General Academic Protocols) between Atilim University and the exchange partner university.

Because the medium of education is English, the students who cannot certify their English Language Proficiency are required to attend the Preparatory School for a period of one year.

Conditions for SuccessTo graduate from the program, the student has to achieve a minimum of 2.00 out of 4.00 Grade Point Average and has to pass all of the courses in the curriculum with a minimum of DD/S/T grade (Atilim University Student Admission, two-year and Undergraduate Education Rules And Regulations, Article 18, Article 25). A minimum of 240 ECTS credits have to be earned for graduation. In addition, the students have to complete the mandatory summer practices and graduation projects within a specified period, following certain specifications.

In technological aspect,  the civil aviation industry is continually evolving and in terms of activities it is at the top of the rapidly growing sectors. In parallel with this growth, the aviation industry needs knowledgeable and highly skilled technical staff who use advanced technology. Our graduates will get a job easily in such corporations which provide national and international Aircraft Maintenance, Reperation and Renewal (MRR) services, sub-industry enterprises and airline companies.
