Hava aracı ile faaliyet gösteren her işletmede, teknisyen bulunması gerekli ve zorunlu bir uygulamadır. Teknisyen hizmeti olmaksızın hava araçlarının uçuşa başlaması mümkün değildir. Mezunlarımız hem ulusal hem de uluslararası sektör kurum ve kuruluşlarında istihdam edilebileceklerdir. İş alanları; hava araçları ile faaliyet gösteren tüm şirketler (havayolları, hava taksi ve genel havacılık işletmeleri, vb.), uçak bakım onarım yenileme tesisleri, uçak, motor ve komponent üretimi yapan şirketler, havacılık eğitim kuruluşları...

  1. An ability to apply airframe and powerplant maintenance skills for the candidates to prepare for the EASA JAR 66 certification.
  2. To learn the technical terms and concepts in order to communicate verbally and in writing about the maintenance procedures, reports and results.
  3. An ability to apply of knowledge and skills in solving aircraft maintenance problems.
  4. An ability to understand and apply fundamental sciences and forethoughts the facts and precautions (such as physics).
  5. The knowledge of operating principles of aircraft, and fundamental principles of aircraft flight and maintenance.
  6. A standard and widespread understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
  7. Knowledge of the importance of the application of maintenance procedures correctly.
  8. Knowledge of personal safety.
  9. An ability to perform inspection techniques.

The aim of the program is to graduate airframe and powerplant maintenance technicians who; uses high technology, creates technological information and has the ability to match the present and future requirements of airframe and powerplant maintenance. In the department the students will learn how to apply the maintenance practices to, airframe, piston and gas turbine engines, propeller and other subsystems of the aircraft. The courses includes aerodynamics, hydraulics, pneumatics, materials, hardware etc.

Our department has established considering the required hardware and infrastructure which enables the education of competent technicians. Aerodynamics, Airframe, Powerplant, Materials, Physics, Technical Drawing and Computer laboratories are present in the Incek Campus of Atilim University.

Technical courses are 40% given practically and students will have an intense and comprehensive laboratory and workshop practices and also they will have real professional experience by participating on the job trainings and summer practices. Courses in 3rd and 4th grades will be carried on in Atilim Hangar in Esenboga Airport. The hangar has, Airframe Workshop, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Workshop, Engine Workshop and Engine Bench.

Access Requirements

Within the rules and regulations provided by the Higher Education Council (YÖK), the students are accepted to this program through the Higher Education Transition Examination (YGS) and Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS) conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). After the students submit their preferences on the programs they want to study, based on their scores the students are placed in one of their choices by the Student Selection and Placement Center.

The following rules and regulations are applied for the acceptance of foreign students:

  1. High School diploma and transcript
  2. Approval of documents in Item 1 by the Ministry of National Education
  3. Performance of the student in the related subjects.
  4. Result of the interview
  5. English proficiency minimum requirements
    • TOEFL IBT: 91
    • CBT: 233
    • PBT: 577
    • IELTS: 5,5
    • Atilim University Prep School Proficiency: 60

The acceptance of exchange students is based on the agreements (Erasmus or General Academic Protocols) between Atilim University and the exchange partner university.

Because the medium of education is English, the students who cannot certify their English Language Proficiency are required to attend the Preparatory School for a period of one year.

Conditions for SuccessTo graduate from the program, the student has to achieve a minimum of 2.00 out of 4.00 Grade Point Average and has to pass all of the courses in the curriculum with a minimum of DD/S/T grade (Atilim University Student Admission, two-year and Undergraduate Education Rules And Regulations, Article 18, Article 25). A minimum of 240 ECTS credits have to be earned for graduation. In addition, the students have to complete the mandatory summer practices and graduation projects within a specified period, following certain specifications.
Progression Paths (Relationship Type)

Any organization which carry on a business on aircraft has to employ aviation technicians. Without the work of aviation technicians an aircraft can operate. Our graduates may be employed in both national and international aviation organizations. Employment opportunities are organizations which carry on a business on aircraft (airlines, air taxi, general aviation organizations etc.), aircraft maintenance organizations, companies which produce aircraft, engine and components, aviation education organizations… Also, our graduates may find employment opportunities in other organization related to powerplants and airframe.
