Yeni bilgi çağında, gereken yeterlilikleri uluslararası standartlarda sağlayabilmek amacıyla bir araya getirilen verileri inceleyebilecek uzmanlara olan ihtiyaç günden güne artmaktadır. Bu nedenle, matematiksel analiz, birçok endüstriyel alan için zorunlu bir unsur haline gelmiştir. Bu bölümden mezun olan öğrencilerimiz, T.C. Devlet Planlama Teşkilatı, Türk İstatistik Kurumu gibi kamu kuruluşlarında olduğu gibi, bankacılık, sigortacılık ve finans sektörlerinde, önde gelen firmaların, AR-GE ve bilişim teknolojileri departmanlarında çalışabilirler. Uygulamalı Matematik yüksek lisans programı; seçkin üniversitelerin Matematik, Ekonomi, İstatistik ve Mühendislik bölümlerinde mezunlarına başarılı bir akademik kariyer, araştırma merkezlerinde bilimsel araştırma yapabilme yeteneği kazandırmak amacıyla hazırlanmıştır.

  • According to BAU Bachelor's Degree Program Education Regulations, Article 23, 1st and 4th provisions, “there must be at least one midterm exam and one semester/year end exam among the evaluation activities of each course”.
  • Requirements to take the resit exam are devised by the Senate. If the course instructor deems appropriate, semester/year activities such as homeworks and laboratary projects can be assessed as a part of the semester/year end grade. 
  • The course instructor decides student’s course grade by considering student’s midterm grade, semester/ year end grade, semester/year performance, and attendance.
  • Semester/year end exam must constitute at least 40% of the course grade; and course instructor is authorised to determine the weight of midterm exam and semester/year end exam, and to convert these grades to course grade.
  • Regulations regarding the evaluation process are clearly stated on the course syllabus and announced to students at the beginning of the semester/year.
  • Student’s course grade is decided by taking student’s all activities during the semester/year into consideration and by applying relative evaluation system.

In order to study in this program, the applicants are required 1. to hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, 2. to have a GPA of minimum 2.0 out of 4.00 or equivalence in undergraduate programs, 3. to hold minimum EA 55 points from ALES(Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Exam held in Turkey) or minimum 610 points from “quantitative” part of GRE (Graduate Record Examination), to be successful in scientific exam (written-oral) 3. to be successful in the scientific interview, 4. to submit at least one Letter of Recommendation.

For this reason, mathematical analyses have become an indispensable element for various industries. Graduates of Master's program may have the opportunity to work in a variety of departments of public institutions such as Turkish State Planning Organization,Turkish Statistical Institute, banking, insurance and finance sector, R & D and information technology departments of leading companies.The PhD program of Applied Mathematics and Statistics is prepared to gain its graduates a successful academic career in the departments of mathematics, economics, statistics and engineering in high quality universities and the ability of making scientific research in research institutions.
