  • According to BAU Bachelor's Degree Program Education Regulations, Article 23, 1st and 4th provisions, “there must be at least one midterm exam and one semester/year end exam among the evaluation activities of each course”.
  • Requirements to take the resit exam are devised by the Senate. If the course instructor deems appropriate, semester/year activities such as homeworks and laboratary projects can be assessed as a part of the semester/year end grade.
  • The course instructor decides student’s course grade by considering student’s midterm grade, semester/ year end grade, semester/year performance, and attendance.
  • Semester/year end exam must constitute at least 40% of the course grade; and course instructor is authorised to determine the weight of midterm exam and semester/year end exam, and to convert these grades to course grade.
  • Regulations regarding the evaluation process are clearly stated on the course syllabus and announced to students at the beginning of the semester/year.
  • Student’s course grade is decided by taking student’s all activities during the semester/year into consideration and by applying relative evaluation system.

Student admission for this undergraduate program is made through university entrance examinations (YKS) prepared in the framework of the regulations set by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). International students are accepted to this undergraduate program according to the score of one of the international exams they take such as SAT,ACT etc. or according to their high school diploma score. Exchange student admission is made according to the requirements determined by bilateral agreements signed by BAU and the partner university. Visiting students can enroll for the courses offered in this program upon the confirmation of the related academic unit. Additionally, they need to prove their English language level since the medium of instruction atBAU is English.

Conditions for SuccessA student is required to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.00/4.00 and no failing grades. The student should also complete 30 days industrial training period.
Progression Paths (Relationship Type)

Graduates of Software Engineering may be primarily employed in information technologies, mainly in the topics of software analysis and design, software test and reliability, software management and development, and software architecture. Today, the growing importance of software engineering in Information Technologies sector that enables graduates to be preferred in different business areas.
