Assessment is carried out in accordance with the Examination, Assesment and Grading Regulations of Abant Izzet Baysal University.

Students who wish to register in the department must have completed and been successful in examinations set by the MSPC. Students who have registered on equivalent programmes within Turkey or abroad can apply for a transfer. International students coming as part of an approved student exchange programme can take the courses in English offered by the department. Those who have sufficient knowledge of Turkish can register for any of the courses given in Turkish.

Graduates from this department are employed by public and private institutions conducting research in history. After a taught masters programme, they can be employed as History teachers.
