Bu programın amacı Türk dili ve edebiyatı eğitiminde bilgi ve beceri bakımından yüksek sorumluluk sahibi öğretmenler yetiştirmek. Ana bilim dalının lisans programı; alan bilgisi, genel kültür ve pedagojik formasyona ilişkin derslerden oluşmaktadır. Eğitim ve öğretim 4 yıl süreli olup dersler teorik ve uygulamalı olarak yapılmaktadır. Ana Bilim Dalı ayrıca Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü bünyesinde yüksek lisans ve doktora programlarını da yürütmektedir.
- Mezunlar, bu alana/disipline ilişkin yeterli bilgiye sahip olur, bunları kavrarlar.
- Mezunlar, Türk edebiyatının tarihi evrelerini ve bunların özelliklerini açıklayabilirler.
- Mezunlar, Türk dili ve edebiyatının zaman ve mekân içindeki farklı görünüşlerinden haberdar olurlar, onlar hakkında yorum yapabilir, tahlil edebilirler.
- Mezunlar, bu disiplini/disiplin kısmını profesyonel olarak eğitim-öğretim kuruluşlarında öğretebilirler.
- Mezunlar, Türk dili ve edebiyatının ve araştırmalarının problemlerini tanımlayabilir ve anlatabilirler.
- Ölçme ve değerlendirmeyi bütün yönleriyle ele alabilir.
Bu programdan mezun olan öğrenciler MEB'e bağlı devlet ve özel okullarda Türk Dili ve Edebiyat Öğretmenliği yapabilir. Ayrıca isteyen öğrenciler yüksek lisans ve doktora çalışmalarına devam ederek akademisyenlik yapabilirler.
