Öğretim programı, çağdaş Yaşlı Bakım teknikerliğinin temellerini vermek üzere hazırlanmıştır. Birinci yıl derslerimiz zorunlu dersler ağırlıklı olmak üzere farklı bilgi düzeyine sahip öğrencileri aynı bilgi düzeyine getirmek için başlıca anatomi, fizyoloji, tıbbi terminoloji derslerini içerir.
- Yaşlının gereksinimlerini bilme ve ona göre bakım planı hazırlama.
- Yaşlının ailesi, doktor, huzurevi ve bakımevi personeline bilgi verme.
- Sağlık personelinin yazmış olduğu ilaçların alınmasını sağlama.
- Yaşlı bireylerin çevreleri ile iletişim kurmalarını sağlama.
- Sağlık personelinin kontrolünde bedensel ve psikolojik rahatsızlıklarında yardımcı olma.
- Yaşlı bireylere yönelik sosyal aktivite organizasyonlarını planlama ve uygulama.
- Bir yabancı dili en az Avrupa Dil Portföyü A2 Genel Düzeyinde kullanarak Yaşlı Bakım alanındaki bilgileri izlemek ve meslektaşları ile iletişim kurar.
- Yaşlı Bakım alanında edindiği temel düzeydeki bilgi ve becerileri kullanarak verileri yorumlar ve değerlendirir, sorunları tanımlar, analiz eder ve çözüm için planlanan çalışmalarda yer/sorumluluk alır.
- Yaşlıların sosyal, fiziksel ve psikolojik değişimlerini anlayarak bu konudaki gereksinimlerini karşılayabilir.
- Sağlıklı ve hasta bireyin yapısını, fizyolojik fonksiyonlarını, davranışlarını ve sağlık ile fiziksel ve sosyal çevre arasındaki ilişkiyi temel düzeyde kavrayabilir.
